CHANEL: Ice age meets fashion.

Karl Lagerfeld. Only his mind could have conceived an idea like this: a giant, 265 – ton glacier as a runway . To make it real , 35 ice sculptors from around the world worked six days. Freezing and crazy. The collection was not my favourite but who cares.
¡That man is a fucking genious!
John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Karl Lagerfeld are designers who present their shows monumentally, with chic and splendor. Of course they cost lots of money and take many efforts but they definitely become memorable. Don’t you remember McQueen’s monster show? Or last season’s Chanel show with all that straw and playful activities? Yes, you do! And you will remember the Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011 show, too. Why? Because I bet you have never seen so much ice and water in Grand Palais.

T
he theme of the collection was the global warming or ‘the global cooling’ as Lagerfeld called it, and its effects on our lives. Male and female models had to walk on a wet surface of the runway sometimes sending little droplets of water to the front row where stars like Lindsay Lohan and Vanessa Paradis were sitting.
